Blockbuster festival season is truly gearing up around the world, and we’re seeing mega lineups flood social media with each passing day. What’s better is that more than a few Aussie talents are making appearances on these bills as well, with Montreal’s Osheaga festival being the latest.
It’s a festival lineup of epic proportions by anyone’s measures, with the likes of Childish Gambino, The Chemical Brothers, Janelle Monae, Interpol, Hozier, City & Colour and many more playing the event this August. But, as with plenty of international festivals over the next few months, two of our very own take headlining positions.
Yep, Flume and Tame Impala take two of the headlining spots at this year’s festival. Both of them are gearing up for massive years, with both of them releasing their first bouts of new music in a while. Tame Impala surprise dropped new single ‘Patience’ on Friday, and Flume went and gave us a whole bloody mixtape, titled Hi This Is Flume, on Thursday.
But they’re not the only homegrown heroes to bless this lineup. Further down, you’ll RÜFÜS DU SOL and Mallrat are also playing Osheaga 2019. Before they fly to Canada, though, RÜFÜS DU SOL will be playing two special shows in Sydney as part of Vivid Live and Mallrat is embarking on her biggest nationwide tour to date.
Osheaga 2019 is taking place from Friday, 2nd – Sunday, 4th August. Check out the full lineup below.
