Always one for the unconventional and always one for an element of surprise, Childish Gambino has today debuted a brand new song via an AR app.
Billboard reports that, via his Pharos AR Android app, Gambino unveiled a new track called ‘Algorhythm’ that can be heard when users can hear by playing their way through the app. More information on that process via Pitchfork.
At the moment, the app is only available via the Google Play store but Variety says that optimisation for iOS is currently underway.
In fact, ‘Algorhythm’ isn’t a completely new song. He’s reportedly been playing it as a part of his live shows, and also sent a demo of the song to those who bought tickets to his US tour last year.
It won’t be too long before Aussies get a chance to hear the song live, as Gambino is coming down under later this year for a headlining slot at this year’s Splendour In The Grass. On top of that, he’ll also be playing a bunch of headline shows of his own, as well as headlining Splendour’s sister festival, Spin Off.
