It seems that not all the members of Slayer share the same animosity towards the trend of celebrities sporting Slayer clothing as Gary Holt, with fellow band member Kerry King apparently finding the trend “humbling.”
Back in 2014 Kendall Jenner started something when she wore a Slayer t-shirt at the Canadian MuchMusic awards, and in response Slayer guitarist Holt began wearing his now infamous “Kill the Kardashians” shirt.
Beyonce also incensed metal fans last year for selling Slayer-inspired Slayoncé pins during her Formation World Tour, but Slayer guitarist King seems pretty blasé about the whole beef.
Speaking with B. C. Rich Guitars King admitted he thought the whole thing was definitely “weird,” but that it was also in a sense “humbling.”
Do I know which ones are real and which ones aren’t? Not a clue,” he said. “It’s becoming a lifestyle that is bigger than Slayer.”
