2018 has gotten off to a questionable start. Just two days in and we’ve already been treated to a new pop tune featuring convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby on lead vocals.

Well, the song has actually been kicking around for a while but Schapelle just shared it on her personal Instagram account, causing the Australian sector of the internet to go troppo.

Dubbed ‘Palm Trees’ the remixed track by producer Naz Zeleny is built around an acapella tune that the former Kerobokan inmate performed in an Instagram video back in July:

But Zeleny takes Schapelle’s dynamite refrain of “I’m in Queensland and it is sunny. I’m with the palm trees” to new levels of turntness by adding a club beat and extra OTT vocals that support the song’s central thesis.

And after the weed-smuggler herself shared the remix on Insta last night, it’s clocked up almost 50K views.

“So it’s taken me a little while to upload it but this is mine and @schapelle.corby‘s song Palm Tree’s (sic),” Zeleny posted back in December.

“I wrote this in Cairns for a bit of a laugh and then took it into the studio to produce it and lay down our vocals. So much fun.”

Disturbingly. some internet commentators are already certifying ‘Palm Trees’ with ‘banger’ status:

While others aren’t sharing the same levels of enthusiasm:

Prepare your ears, and give it a spin for yourself below.
