Dark Mofo 2018 Lineup Announced: St Vincent, Alice Glass, Zola Jesus & More

Tasmania’s sixth annual Dark Mofo festival has unveiled a dark AF music lineup for 2018, featuring the likes of singer-songwriter St Vincent, ex-Crystal Castles frontwoman Alice Glass and dark wave artist Zola Jesus.

Scheduled to take place in and around Hobart this June, Dark Mofo 2018 will also feature performances from the likes of Marlon Williams, The Haxan Cloak, Merzbow, William Basinski, Autechre, Einstürzende Neubauten, Laurie Anderson and Lydia Lunch.

British acid legends Electric Wizard became the first act announced for Dark Mofo 2018 last month, and they’ll be playing an exclusive show at the festival in support of their ninth album Wizard Bloody Wizard.

This year’s Dark Mofo will also feature Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda’s xenon searchlight work ‘spectra’, and the traditional Dark Mofo nude solstice swim.

“We’ve pulled together our most expansive lineup yet, spread over three weekends and presenting more than 750 artists, 22 exhibitions, two opera companies, two theatre companies, one puppet theatre company, one orchestra and a community choir,” says Dark Mofo Creative Director Leigh Carmichael.

Dark Mofo 2018 will run between 13th and 24th June, with a prelude weekend from 7th to 10th June.
