Former Chairlift vocalist Caroline Polachek has released the first taste of her new solo project in new track, ‘Door’.
The first song Polachek has released under her own name, ‘Door’ is a construction of transfixing sounds and visuals, with the music video taking us through a number of different portals. Produced with Jim-E Stack (Empress Of), Dan Nigro and Danny L Harle, ‘Door’ is full of intrigue and texture.
Polacheck has spent the last few years since Charlift’s disbanding writing for a number of heavy-hitters, including Charli XCX and Beyoncé, but it’s also equally as cool to hear her back in her own groove. Striding out too, the forthcoming Caroline Polachek debut album (as yet untitled), has a pretty good start off the mark with ‘Door’.
“I feel totally out of control of most things in the world,” she has said. “[but] can at least build landscapes for the mind.”
