Alice In Chains recently performed at Hellfest in France, and dedicated their song ‘Nutshell’ to the late Vinnie Paul, who passed away last week at age 54.
Guitarist and vocalist for Alice In Chains, Jerry Cantrell, said to the crowd that they always dedicate a song to their late bandmates, Layne Staley and Mike Starr – late singer and bassist respectively.
“Almost every night we like to play a song for our good friend Layne Staley and Mike Starr,” Cantrell said, “and we’re gonna do that.”
“But I’d like to play this one for Vinnie Paul.”
Paul’s death was announced late last week, and police have said that the death “did not appear suspicious.”
