Nirvana‘s 1991 classic ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ has been auto-tuned into a summer banger (although we’re not sure that’s a good thing), and some fans aren’t happy.
Texas dream pop band Sleep Good have unleashed a new auto-tuned version of the Nevermind track subbed ‘Teen Sprite’, which will definitely make you feel uneasy as soon as it hits your ears.
The song (below) features new guitar parts in a major key, but retains Kurt Cobain’s original vocals. Well, his auto-tuned original vocals.
“Can’t believe this went viral,” Sleep Good have told fans on SoundCloud, and some Nirvana fans can’t quite believe it either:
Someone auto-tuned «Smells Like Teen Spirit» and «Losing My Religion» to a major key. Several minutes I’ll never get back.

Just heard Smells like Teen Spirit in a Major key and what kind of Laguna Beach Soundtrack nightmare is this?

For the past 48 hours the internet has blown up about the «Smells Like Teen Spirit» in a major key from a minor video.
Is this like the first taste of music theory for these people?

Give ‘Teen Sprite’ a watch below, if you dare.
