Josh Homme is one of the hardest rockers in the business, so it may surprise you to learn that his latest venture will be reading bedtime stories on a UK television show.
Speaking with The Sun the father of three and QOTSA frontman revealed that as part of the process of touring Europe and the UK, he’ll be making an appearance on pre-school targeted show CBeebies and reading a bedtime story to a group of kids.
“I’m going to be reading the bedtime story on CBeebies,” he said. I’m not doing many interviews this time but I will make time for that to happen.”
Homme’s three kids to Aussie-born musician Brody Dalle are aged 11, six and one – so he’s definitely got the CV for the role, but who’s to say whether this is actually a sign that his image is softening or whether he’s trying to expand the target audience of Queens Of The Stone Age.
The show has a tradition of bringing on A-Grade celebrities to read bedtime stories, and previous guests include Tom Hardy, Sir Patrick Stewart, David Hasselhoff, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Simon Pegg and Isla Fisher.
Queens Of The Stone age dropped their new album Villains just yesterday.
