We’re fast approaching the 50th anniversary of Led Zeppelin‘s second album Led Zeppelin II. To celebrate, Jack White, Royal Blood and Mexican band MANÁ have curated playlists with their favourite tracks from the iconic band’s vast back catalogue.
As part of the anniversary celebration, a playlist generating programme has been launched for fans to re-discover the band’s new music in a completely new way. And the aforementioned acts were tapped to create their own for fans.
As to be expected, Jack White’s playlist features more of Led Zeppelin’s obscure tracks, including some alternate mixes and live versions. In a statement, White said “They are an immovable force in music.”
“I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like them.”
Mike Kerr, Royal Blood frontman, said “Led Zeppelin’s magic has always been about the chemistry that existed between the four members.”
“Nearly 50 years on and the quality of the songs, the guts and the swag on these recordings is untouched.”
Listen to White’s playlist below, and check out the playlist generator website here.
