It’s been a long time coming, but Australian rock legends Grinspoon are about to return to triple j‘s Like A Version covers segment for the first time in almost a decade.
The band’s very first Like A Version cover was all the way back in 2005, when they performed a rendition of The Verve’s ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’. In fact, they were so early to the Like A Version game that they were featured on Volume 1 of triple j‘s Like A Version CD (remember those?).
They then returned back in 2009 for a cover of Prince’s ‘When You Were Mine’, but haven’t been back since.
Thankfully though, the band will be making their triumphant return to Like A Version next week, on Friday, 4th May.
In a statement to Music Feeds about the upcoming performance, Grinspoon said, “We are stoked to be hitting up Like A Version for triple j next Friday for the third time!
“It will be unreal to be back in the same studio we recorded LickerBottleCozy [the band’s second EP, released in 1996] in all those years ago! Bring it.”
Grinspoon are currently touring the country as part of the 2018 Groovin The Moo lineup. They last toured in a headline capacity in 2017, with a 20th anniversary tour for their 1997 debut album Guide To Better Living.
