Farmer & The Owl festival is right around the corner. Beach House and Deafheaven lead this year’s monster lineup, and Snail Mail, Stella Donnelly, Joyce Manor and way more are joining them.
One special act on the bill is Flint Eastwood, the banging alt-pop project of Jax Anderson. Her entire discography is jam-packed full of party bangers, so it’s no surprise that her pump-up playlist is no different.
What is a surprise, however, is how few tracks Flint thinks you need to get keen. In fact, much like the rest of the world, her playlist centres around one person – Beyoncé.
Well, Beyoncé and Toto. We’re not even mad.
Check out Flint Eastwood’s run down of the playlist, and listen to it, below.
Farmer & The Owl festival is taking place on Saturday, 2nd March. Check out all the festival’s details here. Flint Eastwood’s Australian headline shows kick off this week. See details for those, here.
Flint Eastwood’s Farmer & The Owl 2019 Pump-Up Playlist
1. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’
I have played this song before every major show of my career. This year it graduated to being played before every. Single. Set. Beyoncé bless us all.
2. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’
I’m dead ass serious- It’s even better the second time around. The song starts with sultry vocals that immediately puts you on a beach in a black bathing suit at night with the wind furiously tackling your curls.
3. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’
Third time’s a charm! Why not take another go? This bitch started off in muthafuckin DESTINY’S CHILD. She carried everyone through 4 STUDIO ALBUMS before going solo. THIS BITCH IS A SELF-PROCLAIMED SURVIVOR & IT SHOWS.
4. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’
Hell fuckin yeah I’m listening to this multiplatinum hit for a 4th time in a row – it pumps me up. This time around I’m letting the 808’s sink into my bones. I’m letting the giggle in the 2nd verse BRING ME LIFE. It’s on…
5. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’
This time around I’m finally paying attention to Beyoncé’s husband’s verse & saying more than just the lines “Your breastesses are my breakfast” and “Eat the cake Annie Mae! EAT THE CAKE ANNIE MAE”. God Beyoncé is so talented…
6. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’ (on a lower volume)
At this point I’m probably doing stretches & talkin hype ups with my dj so I’ll hit it down a notch or two to focus.
7. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’ (turned back up)
Even on the 7th time around, you better believe we’re still getting low & imitating riding that sweet sweet wave when she says “surf bordt”. Gahhhh the “T” is SO WELL PLACED.
8. Africa – Toto
How can you not?
9. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’
And we’re back – the synths sound smoother & the drums are hitting harder. I pretty much know all the lyrics & still lose my shit when the last chorus hits
10. Beyoncé – ‘Drunk In Love (feat. JAY-Z)’ (full volume)
IT IS BLARING. I AM CRY/SCREAM SINGING. EVERYONE IS RAGING. BEYONCÉ DID IT. SHE PREPARED US FOR WHAT’S NEXT. THE QUEEN HAS BLESSED US & WE ARE READY TO BLESS OTHERS. THE 808’s FADE & I ENTER THE STAGE. ANOTHER DAY IS DONE & I AM CONTENT WITH THE CHOICES THAT I’VE MADE. IT’S THE BEST SET I’VE EVER PLAYED. PEOPLE HAVE DISCOVERED THEIR CALLINGS. BABIES HAVE BEGUN WALKING. VOLCANOES ARE ERUPTING. I THANK OUR SAVIOR QUEEN B & EXIT THE STAGE. GOOD NIGHTTTTTTTTT AUSTRALIAAAAA!!!
