Celebrating 25 years since the release of David Bowie’s ‘A Space Oddity’ from his self-titled album, key alumni from Bowie’s bands over the years will be taking ‘A Bowie Celebration’ around Australia.
Bowie’s longest standing member and musical director, Mike Garson will head the tour. The celebration will feature vocals from Living Colour’s Corey Glover as well Joe Sumner (Sting’s son).
They will also be accompanied by Earl Slick, Gerry Leonard, Carmine Rojas, Mark Plati, and Charlie Sexton to name a few.
”In all the years I played and toured with David, I was asked to play with many dozens of Bowie tribute bands but turned each down because I was able to play with the real deal,” said Garson of ‘A Bowie Celebration’ in a statement.
“Since David has passed, while it now takes a village of world-class vocalists to celebrate David’s songs with us on tour, the band that’s playing those songs with me are the actual players who played with David,” he noted, explaining they’re different to other tribute bands.
